March recap
Well this month has been a crazy month for us, as you can read on the posts below. We have been busy with Chandler starring in his first play. His Kindergarten class did The three little pigs..which he played the stick seller. Spencer had a Easter party and egg hunt at his preschool. Lexie had fun playing outside, she would play even it was pouring rain. Wesley sat up for the first time last week. The kids and I enjoyed a Primary activity and egg hunt. Then later that day went to a kite festival at a local park. Chandler and Spencer have decided that emptying the dishwasher is pretty fun. Then putting the dishes upside down in the cupboard is great enjoyment. The boys have Spring Break this week. So far the first of 9 days it was rainy and cold. So we spent the day making Easter cards for the grandparents and making window decorations for the front window. Tomorrow I am going to attempt to go grocery shopping, but will not be having any kiddos in the basket :) And then we will come home and make bunny puppets with paper bags. I will decide what to do the rest of the time the night before the activity.

Sorry
****IF YOU LOVE WAL-MART OR HAVE EVER WORKED OR WILL WORK THERE, I APOLOGIZE IF ANYTHING SAID OFFENDS YOU...
Today started off like a typical Monday morning, we dropped both Chan and Spence off at the bus and school. Lexie, Wesley and I proceed up to Super Wal-Mart. Everything was going fabulous, we got all of our things quickly and there weren't a ton of people there. I have decided that going as early as possible is the best when shopping at this store. We put our things up on the belt and go to pay for our items, I swipe my card (not pushing very hard). Before I continue I need to add that the card machine looked like it might fall off the counter. Well I go to put my pin number in and the screen goes blank after the first number. I tell the cashier that the screen is blank, she looks at it. She says, "you broke it", and comes around to see it. I apologize to her a few times...even though it looked like it was about to fall apart anyway. All that had happened was that it came unplugged, nothing a little plugging back in would not fix. The whole time she is muttering to herself, she finally gets it plugged in..taking her a total of two minutes to do. Well the screen was not moving fast enough for her, so she goes to track down a manager...which took longer than if she had waited for it to reboot. Meanwhile the lady behind me starts to chuckle, so I turn and apologize to her. She turned out to be a really nice lady and we had a good little chat. The manager comes and says that she has to close her lane right away and they will reboot it. All the while giving me nasty looks. Well right after the manager left the screen was up and running. I think all of maybe 6 or 7 minutes had passed. I apologize again to the lady behind me..since she is the one who has other places to be. She was the one that told me to have a good day while the cashier threw the receipt at me and gave me a bad look. Seriously there was no one else in line all the other lanes had at most one person checking out, did she have somewhere to be? I have come to believe that Wal-Mart hires people that have bad attitudes and that don't like to be around other people. This particular one I go to because of the other customers that shop there. It is in a more rural area, mostly older people shop there. I will continue to shop there...but only because of the prices and other customers. Next time I go I'll make sure to slide my card through ever so gently and not push the buttons, hahaha.

Being a Mom
Yesterday one of my friends posted on her facebook account that she wished at that moment she was not a mom. I have thought about my own moments of wondering what am I doing? Being a parent is in my opinion the hardest job there is. It is emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually draining at times. Then there are the times that you could never be more proud to be a parent. Well we seem to be having a lot of days where I am just totally and utterly exhausted in all those areas, by the end of the day.
Chandler lately seems to go from one mood to the next in an instant. His new thing is telling me about five times a day that he is going to run away, when I tell him no to something. Most of the time I let him go up to his room to pack up his laundry hamper (give him a little cool off time) then I go up and try to talk some sense into him. The last few days he has gotten outside and started to run away. I have slowly walked after him and he ends up running back inside. Yesterday he managed to lock me out of the house twice after getting him back inside(could have sworn the keys were in my pocket). That was not too much fun, considering Wesley was inside crying and Chan wouldn't open the door. Note to self hide a house key outside somewhere. But he is the best big brother, always looking out for his little brothers and sister. He will ask Spencer what he did in preschool and what Lexie and Wesley did while Spence is at school. He is doing great with his speech, we can have a whole conversation and I can understand everything he says. So that is a big improvement over just a few months ago. He is a mystery to everyone at school. They did testing on him last month and were blown away by some of the scores that he was getting...so obviously he is learning more than he lets on.
What can I say about Spence he is one active, busy kiddo. A few weeks ago Lexie and him decided that they would decorate my family room carpet with a full can of Nesquik and cool whip smudged together. I used three different cleaners and there is still a big brown spot. Then last week we ran into Sam's just really quick, so I put Lex and Wesley in the front and Spence in the basket. I turned around to see where Chan was and felt Wesley's carrier start to fall. I caught his carrier before it got too far, but couldn't catch Spence and he fell straight on his head. So we spent the evening in the E.R., thankfully we have awesome friends that meet me and took my other three kiddos. He ended up with a mild concussion, so we have to keep an eye on him for two weeks and try to keep him from having another big fall. When the doctor told me that I had to smile, how was I suppose to keep this kid from doing anything climbing related for two weeks?
It has been nice weather here the last few days, so we have spent all day long outside. Maybe I can keep Lexie and Spencer out of too much trouble if we are outside. I have to keep reminding myself that I can't expect a two and three year old to not get curious and try science experiments on my carpet. Like I have stated before if they are awake and I want to take a shower..gotta expect a mess when I get out. At the end of the day it is the hugs, kisses, and smiles that make it all worthwhile. My kids may at times look quite unkept and unorderly, but they are kids none the less having fun. May 1st can not come quick enough, when Nate no longer has to work six days a week until late. The kids will enjoy actually seeing their dad for more than two minutes.

Lost tooth
Chandler lost his very first tooth yesterday. A few days ago I was reading to him and noticed that one of his teeth looked a little off, so I felt around. Sure enough it was a little bit loose. We were just heading out the door yesterday morning and he came running down holding it in his hands. He knew exactly what to do with it. He put it in a baggy and we put it up on the fridge..out of the reach of two little trouble makers. Well somehow they got up on the counter and got the tooth down and threw it on the ground. Not realizing it was on the ground I vacuumed it up. Chandler came home from school wanting to see it and low and behold it was not anywhere to be found. Realizing that I vacuumed earlier we started to go through the vacuum bag. Luckily I had just changed the bag, so there was not too much stuff in there. By some miracle I was able to find it and we put it under his pillow. He was so excited for the tooth fairy, that he did not go to sleep until almost 11. So the tooth fairy had to of course wait until he was in bed and actually asleep. He must have been thinking about it when he was sleeping, because he woke up at 6 this morning and let out a big; "whoppee the tooth fairy came" and usually I have to pry him out of bed at 7:30 to eat and get ready to go. So we made it through the first lost tooth with not too many tears, now how many more to go?
6 months old
Last Sunday Welsey turned 6 months old. It is sad to think that my little guy is already 6 months. He is the best little baby, couldn't have asked for a more mellow baby. He is starting to babble a lot and laughs like crazy. His favorite thing is to play pook-a-boo with anyone who will play with him. He has gotten two teeth in the last month, he was a little fussy during this time. So now everything he can get his hands on goes straight to his mouth. He rolls over and kind of scoots along the ground. Chandler is his absolute favorite person in the world. He can make Wesley smile and giggle all the time. Chandler loves to put him on our bed and surround him with pillows and sit next to him playing and reading to him. It makes it really nice when he is around, I can get things done and not feel guilty about not playing with Wesley. I took him to the doctor a few days ago and his stats are: Weight: 19 IBS. 9 OZ; Height: 28 IN. So he is in the 85% for weight and 90% for his height. I feel bad after they give him the immunizations, he always seems to not want to eat as well as before. At four months we started him on rice cereal, he doesn't really like it. I tried carrots for the first time a few days ago, and as you can see it came right back up. We will have to work on him liking solid foods.
Valentine's Parties

Because of the lovely snow that we got Spence's party was pushed until the 17th. His was basically just a special snack, preschool does not do quite the production as does the elementary school. He of course loved the chocolate and getting lots of valentines.
Chandlers party..
Chandler's class had quite the shin dig. They decorated mailboxes and then handed out valentine's to each other. Then they played a game where they guessed how many candy hearts were in a jar. The other game they played was trying to unwrap a chocolate with a sock on their hand. Chandler's table and another table tied for first. He really got into playing the game, I think our area was the loudest cheering section in the classroom. Then they of course had cupcakes and lots of candy. Luckily Chandler does not really like a lot of candy, so needless to say his is still in his bag after a week. It was a fun filled week full of sugar. They also celebrated their hundredth day of kindergarten, so it was fun to combine both events.

The big one
This huge snowstorm was a lot bigger than I had originally thought it would be. I am really glad that I went to the store, I just wish I would have bought more milk. The kids loved going out about five times on Saturday to play out there. They would last only a few minutes and then want to come back in. There is so much snow, that it overwhelmed them. We ended up with about 24 inches of new snow. Lexie was the only one willing to stand for pictures, as you can see. The storm started mid-morning Friday and went until mid-afternoon Saturday. Nate went out about four times on Saturday to shovel and help others unbury themselves. Then on Sunday we had church cancelled, so he spent the morning getting people unburied. The snowplow that went through once on Saturday morning basically snowed a lot of people in the corners in. We saw some crazy people trying to drive around and of course high center it. These pictures do not really show what a whopper of a storm it was. They have of course cancelled school today and tommorrow. We are suppose to get another 6-8 inches tommorrow night, so I am assuming the kids will only have school on Thursday and Friday this week.
The kids really wanted something to do when it was a blizzard outside on Saturday. Chandler really wanted to make his own table, so they made one in our living room. Then they pretended to have school, it was really cute.
