Carving Pumpkins

Here are some pics from our annual pumpkin carving evening at Grandma and Grandpa Barkers house. The kids look forward to going to their house and picking out their own pumpkins to carve. Sadly Nate was unable to come, because he was out of town. So these pics will be nice for him to look at.

Blog Tag

I've been tagged by my friend Monica. I guess you pick your sixth picture file and your sixth picture in that file and post it (I didn't have a sixth pic. file, so I got one close to it). Then pick five friends to tag. This is Lexie the day after she was born.

I tag Joann, Andrea, Anne, Rachel, and Lynn.

Not Again

Okay so I think we need to put Spence in a fenced play area, when I am not right next to him. On Friday he decided that he would use the oven while I was doing laundry and helping Chan. Spence got out a cake pan, a whole carton of an 18pk of eggs and some butter. He cracked all of the eggs and put the shells in the sink. He preceded to put the eggs in the pan and then put the butter on top and put it into the oven. I made the mistake of leaving the pan on the counter and the fridge unlocked. Yes that is right we have to put a latch on the fridge so he does not dump everything out. I walked up and I had to stop from bursting out laughing, because he was so proud of what he had made. Needless to say that the floor and oven were a mess. I wish that was the end of the work of Spence. An hour later I was upstairs cleaning the kitchen and he came up with a Sharpie in his hand and he was covered in blue from head to toe. Our poor la-z-boy got Sharpie all over it. If anyone knows how to get a sharpie out of fabric please let me know. We ended the night with him climbing up onto the cabinet and getting Lexie's medicine and pouring all of it into one of her bottles (it had a childproof cap on it). Some may think wow where is Jill when this is happening. He tends to time these things when I am in the shower, doing laundry, or am trying to help Chan and Lexie. I really do watch this child, he is just a little character and uses every moment to reek havoc on the house. I do not think I have put him timeout this many times in one day. I love the kid, but there are days when I am not sure what to do with his creative mind. Oh and he has his own play kitchen and pots, he just chooses to use mine. Which is fine when he is just pretending and not really using real food or really turning things on. I do have coloring books for him to do and tons of toys, he just seems to like to play with our household items.

Cooking with Spencee

Our dear Spencee is quite the kid. He is always getting into mischief. I really need to just have the camera on me at all times when he is around. Today he decided that he would cook some of his toys in the oven, with it being on. He got up on the counter and turned the oven on, didn't realize he knew how to do that. This was all while I was in the shower for ten minutes. I came out and luckily our oven takes awhile to heat up. He was very proud of putting his toys in a pot and putting them in the oven. Nothing was melted, thank goodness. I am glad that there is only one of him and he's not twins. He loves to get into pots and pans and pretend to cook, and he always gets the hot pads out while he is cooking, so at least he is safe that way.

Gotta love kids

Chandler and Spencer had the cutest conversation. Chandler took something away from Spencer and this is how he reacted.
Spencer: "Whoa dude, whatcha doin?"
Chandler: "I'm not a dude, my name is Chan Chan and I want that."
Spencer: "My ad, no way Jose'".
This went on for a few minutes and then finally Spencer took it back and ran into his room. It goes to show you how much they pick up from us adults. I have called them dudes before, I'm not sure where he picked up the Jose' thing though.

Lexie in Disneyland

Here is Lexie enjoying Disneyland. She did really well for it being such a long day for everyone. I think that she was really excited to be home in her own comfort zone. I feel kind of dumb, I figured out how to turn the picture before you post them.

Beach and Seaworld

Here is Nate and Chandler riding the Shipwreck rapids in Sea World, he did not enjoy it. Here we are at the Beach near our condo in Oceanside. While there we were able to get together with our friends the Belnaps.

Disneyland

Spencer decided to steal a hat from the store next to the Alice in Wonderland ride. Sorry I have not figured out how to turn the pictures yet. Spencer was not happy about being in toontown I guess.

Hello

I kind of did this blog a little backwards. I didn't mean for the pictures to be at the top, oh well. Well anyway, I thought that it would be fun to join the blog fad. Our family now consists of three little ones. Chandler is four, and loves going to preschool and riding the bus. Spencer is two, he is our very active child which loves to pretend to cook. Lexie is 9 months, and has her brothers wrapped around her cute chubby fingers. We are so excited that fall is finally here.

Lexie

Lexie is now 9 months, she was about 6 months at the time.

Spencer

Here is our Spence. He was not too happy to get his picture taken. My dad was able to get him to finally smile.

Chandler

Chandler loves Superman and Batman. There for awhile that is all he talked about. Now he has expanded it to include Spiderman. Which is what he is going to be for Halloween.

The Fam

The McKinstry's

I figured since we might be moving out of the state, that I might want to start a blog. I am not sure how well I will do keeping it up, we will see. We are thinking of moving back to Maryland, that is if we can sell our house here in Utah. We really liked it back there and miss the green.
