We Made it...

Well after a very long drive we made it back to MD last Sunday. The drive was horrible, we hit a blizzard through the Colorado Rockies and had a few close calls with other cars. I think my knuckles were pure white the whole time driving over those lovely mountains. Chandler kept telling me to calm down and that it was going to be okay. Nate was in one car with Spence and I had Chan and Lexie in with me and Chan was probably hoping he was in with Nate. I've driven in blizzards before, just not going over a very windy and steep climbs. We tried to miss another storm by going really south through Tennesse, that added a few more hours to the lovely drive we were having, hah, hah. After five days of driving for hours on end we made it on the 7th just in time for Nate to start work bright and early Monday morning. Our belongings did not make it until just a few days ago. We camped out in the apartment for a week, quite the adventure. I think everyone was very excited to see their own beds, I definetly was. Our kids are having a tought time adjusting to living in an apartment, luckily it is only until our townhome is being built. It will be a joyous day when we move into it in two months. We have had some misadventures already in this place. The blinds in the boys room was broken this morning, we have had coloring on the walls and carpet. It only happens when you don't own the place. In our home in Utah we never broke a blind. For the next few days we are having to live with Netzero free internet service, that is slower than all get out. I will be happy when I can get my DSL back, I am very much addicted to blogging and reading others. We are so very blessed that we made it here safely and are all doing fairly well. We went to our new ward on Sunday and it seems to be a very nice ward. So we will see what this chapter in our lives involves.

I'm so glad to hear that you made is safe and sound. I talked to my mom and heard that you were having quite the interesting drive out to MD. So are you buying a townhome? The same one that you looked at originally? How fun! It sounds like by spring you guys will be all set. Enjoy being back in MD and have a great Christmas.

We are so glad you guys made it back safely. Sounds like it was pretty scary there for awhile. We miss you guys already but are so excited that things are working out so well for you--yeah for the townhome in two months! I think that's awesome that it was still available! We felt the same as you when we were renting an apartment while our house was being built...lots of "accidents" on practically white carpet. White carpet, three kids and a dog just don't mix, even if it was just for two months. Good luck, and keep posting, even if it's a pain with NetZero! :)

Nate and Jill, glad you made it safely. I can't imagine driving for so long with my little ones.
