Just Buy a New One

I just love the innocence of little kids. We took the kids to the park on Saturday and Nate was running and chasing the boys. He stopped and said that his knee really hurt and he needed to sit down. Well Spence spoke up and said, "why don't you buy a new knee?" Nate asked him through a held back giggle where he could buy one at. Spence told him, "at the hosital (hospital)." We had to try not to laugh too hard, because he was serious about buying a new knee for Nate. They come up with some of the cutest things about situations.

Making Cookies

Spencee, Spencee what I can say about him? We had some friends over for dinner and were saying bye to them outside and Spencee decided he would make cookies. I guess he figured that mom and dad would be a little while, so why not get the flour down and add water to it. He unfortunately poured water from a cup sitting on the counter into the whole thing of flour. We both started laughing when he told us what he was doing. How can you get mad at a face like his? We had to throw all the flour away, luckily it isn't too expensive to buy. He has really been on a kick to make cookies and pancakes. He will even get the eggs, milk, and pan out to cook them. You just gotta love this kid for wanting so badly to help in the kitchen.

Pigtails finally

I was so excited Lexie has enough hair to do pigtails. It was quite the feat to get her to stay still do to two ponytails. She has a hard enough time with just one. It is fun to have a little more hair to work with.

Antietam Battlefield

This past Saturday we decided to head out to Antietam Battlefield. It was a nice warm day to go exploring. We were reminded about an hour into the trip about the lovely humidity here in the East. We bought a book and CD tour guide that helped the trip a little more fun. The book had suggestions on where to take pictures with the kids, so Chandler and Spencer had fun finding those at the stops. Nate also printed out a scavenger hunt before we left home. Chandler really got into finding the different monuments and statues along the battlefield. We were surprised at how much the kids seemed to like going here. Of course Spencer was not too happy when we made him get strapped back into his carseat to go home. He liked getting out and running around and pretending to shoot the cannons and climb on the monuments. Lexie really tried to keep up with the boys and wanted to climb up on everything they did.

Spencer's 3rd Birthday

Spencer had a great third birthday a few weeks ago. We went the day before to a bunch of different places. He was very excited for his birthday presents. He got a chefs outfit, that he would not take off for the whole day. The whole day he kept asking me if we could make chocolate chip cookies. He was even willing to get the eggs and beat them for me. He got an ambulance and fire engine that make noises and came with firemen. Lexie still gets into fights with Spence to play with them. He got a big wheel, his legs don't quite reach the pedals. That does not stop him from just pushing it with his feet. He wanted a Diego cake, so he got a figurine to put on top of the cake. I am hoping that next year I can actually come up with more creative cakes for the boys.

Hershey Chocolate World

The day before Spencer's birthday we decided to celebrate it by going to Hershey and some other places. We started at Hershey Chocolate World. They have a fun ride inside that shows how they make the chocolate for the different candies that they make. We had to ride it twice and I think that the kids would have gone a few more times if we let them. They also were able to package some kisses, at the Hershey Factory works. We let each of the kids pick out a treat at the shops that they have in there, that was quite the trick to get them to choose just one. After Chocolate World we went to a park that was nearby to eat our picnic lunch and play on the playground. It was a little bit of a chilly day, but that did not slow down the kids one bit. Then it was on to the next adventure of the day...

Nature Center

Well it was off to our next adventure the day before Spencee's Birthday. We went to a great Nature Center in Harrisburg PA. We were not sure what to expect, but it turned out to be an awesome place to visit. The kids had a really hard time leaving. The room where they could feel animal skins and color was the highlight of the visit. There they had a great place to sit and read books about different animals. The kids saw a bunch of frogs in the bog and wanted to get an upclose and personal look at them, hence me trying to keep them from falling in. Nate did a great job picking this place to visit. We then went to a huge clock in a mall that had balls of all sizes going up and down. The day ended with a quick trip to Gettysburg Battlefield. The kids really enjoyed pretending to fire the cannons.
